2006 Season - Week 9
Halfway to Heaven
Week 9 in the NFL is over and every team has now played 8 of their 16 games. Indianapolis remain unbeaten in their pursuit of Miami’s perfect season but Chicago went down unexpectedly to 1-7…Miami. In the BUMS John Botten’s $4million wonders continue to outpace everybody. With a 17 point lead he is on pace for 550 points which would be the fourth highest total ever. In the Conference Ron is also playing high octane ball. He has only 3 points fewer than John, leads Conference by an incredible 69 points and is 112 points above the promotion line. His success is powered by San Diego Running Back LaDainian Tomlinson who has 87 points through 8 games. That would extrapolate to 174 points for the season which would beat the highest ever BUMS total of 168 set by Shaun Alexander just last year.
Halfway to Hell
Arizona are on the draft clock at the moment with a record of 1-7 but 8 other teams are 2-6:- Cleveland, Detroit, Houston, Miami, Oakland, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay and Tennessee. Dave, AP and Chief are currently in the drop zone while Wayne & Phil are adrift of the promotion line. Keenan McCardell is the only player who has been on a BUMS roster (Andy H’s) since week 1 who has yet to score. Meantime Mark is attempting to go throughout the season without his Head Coach winning a game. He went 0-4 with Oakland’s Art Shell before trading day 1 and has gone 0-3 with Scott Linehan (St Louis) since.
